Another winner from New England. This deep amber IPA is brewed with a combination of two-row pale, caramel, and black patent malts as well as roasted barley. Cascade, Northern Brewer and Willamette hops are used up front for their bittering contributions while the same three hops and Kent Goldings AND toasted oak chips are used to dry hop this sweet nectar. Look for a big malt nose up front. The flavor is also malty but extremely well balanced with an aggressive hop character. You pick up the toasted oakiness in the finish. Overall, a very full flavored, well-balanced, wonderful interpretation of a great style.
