Otter Creek Brewing Company - Daily Dose IPA

Pouring a hazy golden straw color topped with a big head of fluffy foam, Daily Dose looks great as it rests in the glass. Prominent tropical fruit notes jump out right away in the aroma, backed up by resinous citrus rind, floral tones, and a spicy flourish. Daily Dose is brewed to be an easy-drinking, any-time-of-day sort of IPA, and the beer’s silky smoothness on the palate contributes to this mission greatly, along with the low, sessionable ABV. Look for those big, juicy tropical fruit notes to lead the way in the flavor, supported by an interplay between the deft floral character and the zesty citrus notes. Hop bitterness is moderate, easily balancing a noticeable dash of residual malt sweetness to keep this brew very well balanced and ultimately dry in the lingering finish. For pairing options, we’d play off the beer’s tropical character with a Vietnamese green papaya salad with chicken, Thai pineapple fried rice, grilled tilapia with mango salsa, or a ginger & pineapple chicken or pork stir fry. The Otter Creek Brewing began in the beautiful town of Middlebury, Vermont, and shipped their first keg of beer back in March of 1991. Their original brewery was conceived in 1989 by Lawrence Miller, an avid homebrewer with extensive experience traveling through and studying brewing in Europe. Four years later, they had outgrown their original site and moved into a state of the art brewery just down the road. Middlebury was chosen as the brewery site as much for its quality of life as for its excellent water obtained from the pristine Otter Creek River (hence their name).

In 2022, Otter Creek became part of Massachusetts Bay Brewing Company, an employee-owned company based in Boston (most famous in Massachusetts for their famed Harpoon Brewery) and in Windsor, Vermont, where they’ve been brewing for over two decades. Otter Creek’s current focus is on hoppy ales – specifically IPAs – and we’re excited to bring their beers to our club members for the first time in almost 15 years.
