- Style: Harvest Ale
- ABV: 5.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 35
- Serving Temperature: 42-50°F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Weizen Glass
- Hops: Bravo, Sorachi Ace
- Malts: 2-Row Pale, Munich, NY White Wheat
- Country: United States
We're excited to bring this brew to you, as it's a brand new fall seasonal beer that hasn't yet even been released to the public as of this writing. For this wheat ale, the folks at Matt Brewing Co. have sourced locally-grown white wheat from Ithaca, NY to provide the beer's distinct wheaty "twang". On the pour, expect quite a bit of haze in this brew, as it is unfiltered as many wheat beers tend to be. On the nose, look for the wheat and...
- Style: Pale Ale
- ABV: 5.3%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 39
- Serving Temperature: 45-50°F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Cascade, Magnum, Spalt, Goldings
- Malts: Pale, Munich
- Country: United States
This bottle-conditioned pale ale gets a dose of wort (unfermented beer) added just prior to bottling, allowing the beer to carbonate naturally in the bottle. Expect a nice golden color on the pour with some haze due to some yeast in suspension. We found the aroma profile pleasantly soft, with pale malt notes and a hint of breadiness meeting a mild and somewhat floral hop aroma. Look for subtle hints of fruit akin to apple flesh and perhaps...
- Style: Irish Red Ale
- ABV: 4.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 17
- Serving Temperature: 42-47°F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Mt. Hood, Tettnang
- Malts: 2-Row Pale, Crystal
- Country: United States
Another of Saranac's fall seasonals, this Irish Red Ale presents an attractive amber color in the glass, topped with a sizeable crop of foam. Irish reds are malt-focused beers, so it's no surprise to find the aroma oriented towards caramel with lightly bready and toasty notes. We picked up a hint of brown sugar and mild fruity esters as well, overlaid with a mellow contribution of spicy, grassy notes from the light dose of hops. On the palate...
- Style: Golden Ale
- ABV: 5.4%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 16
- Serving Temperature: 42-47°F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Willamette, Tettnang, Cascade
- Malts: 2-Row Pale, Carapils, Cara 60
- Country: United States
This brew presents a rich golden amber color topped by a sizeable, fluffy, off-white head that retains very well and drops to a persistent collar. Unlike some golden ales, Sugar Hill offers up a readily discernable malt character on the nose, with a nice touch of caramel, some biscuits, and a wisp of toffee. Hops add an earthy, mildly floral note with a dab of citrus. On the palate, expect a substantial feel for a golden ale, with considerable...
- Style: Oud Bruin
- ABV: 5.0%
- Serving Temperature: 45-55° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Chalice, or Flute
- Country: Belgium
Bourgogne des Flandres means "Burgundy of Flanders", and the comparison to wine is appropriate as Oud Bruins and Flemish Red Ales are often considered the most wine-like of beers due to their prominent acidity and complex fruity notes, and this brew is no exception. On the pour expect quite a dark brown hue with reddish highlights topped with a robust crop of foam. Fruity notes abound on the nose; look for a somewhat candied cherry and apple...
- Style: Pumpkin Ale
- ABV: 5.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 18
- Serving Temperature: 45-50°F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Cascade, Willamette
- Country: Canada
To celebrate the coming of fall, we're happy to bring you McAuslan's fall seasonal pumpkin ale, known as Citrouille in Quebec. This brew presents a rich orange-amber color topped by an effervescent head. The spices are apparent as soon as you pour; look for prominent notes of ginger backed by nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove, all of which McAuslan uses in this recipe. We could swear there are notes of cardamom too, but that one's not included as...
- Style: Imperial Amber Ale
- ABV: 8.2%
- Serving Temperature: 54-61° F
- Suggested Glassware: Snifter, Tulip
- Country: United States
Bone Warmer is ideally timed for early fall. The weather’s cooling, and this beer provides just a touch of warmth and plenty of darker, robust German malts. The latter conjures up toasty Oktoberfest Märzens, as well as the deeper caramel of full-flavored, cold-weather bocks. In the glass, Bone Warmer pours a deep and clear cola-brown color, like a gold-tinged port with its alcohol tucked away. Allowed to warm, the aroma here offers up layers..
- Style: Imperial Belgian Stout
- ABV: 8.0%
- Serving Temperature: 50-59° F
- Suggested Glassware: Snifter, Tulip
- Country: Belgium
Imperial Hofblues retains much of the charm of its lighter-bodied precedent, with a resilient, fine-bubbled foam and CO2, the latter nicely cutting through much of the weightiness of this beer’s dark specialty malts. While quite dark, for sure, there’s a light reddish-brown hue here as well courtesy of significant caramalt additions, which also help with head retention while providing some caramel notes and unfermentable dextrins to amp up the...
