Unmatched Variety by style, brewery & country
Choose from Five different Beer Clubs offering unmatched variety by brewery,
country of origin, and beer style to suit your specific tastes.
- Style: Munich Dunkel Lager
- ABV: 5.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 25
- Serving Temperature: 45-53º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass, Flute, Mug or Stein
- Hops: Perle
- Malts: 2-Row, Munich, Black
- Country: United States
This Munich-style dunkel lager pours quite a deep brown color with ruby highlights towards the edges and a nice crop of foam on top. The style can be interpreted rather broadly in our experience, with some brewers creating a deeply chewy concoction, and others aiming for something akin to a light quaff. Penn Dark finds the happy medium. On the nose, look for a strong toasty character to lead the way, bolstered by notes of caramel, brown sugar...
- Style: English Porter
- ABV: 5.6%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 40
- Serving Temperature: 47-53º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Summit, Glacier, Cascade, East Kent Goldings
- Malts: Pale, Crystal, Chocolate, Roasted Barley, Torrified Wheat
- Country: United States
Named after Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, this beer is described by the brewery as a sort of hybrid between a porter and a Scottish ale, and we tend to agree with that assessment. It pours a very dark brown hue with a nice tan head displaying good retention. Expect a complex aroma profile composed of caramel, chocolate, and toffee notes alongside some deep down toastiness. Hints of smoke show off the Scottish ale influence here, while a touch...
- Style: Vienna Lager
- ABV: 5.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 30
- Serving Temperature: 40-47º F
- Suggested Glassware: Flute, Pilsner Glass
- Hops: Hallertau Perle, Hallertau Tradition
- Malts: 2-Row, Caramel
- Country: United States
The name is a little bit deceiving, as Penn Pilsner is brewed more in the style of a Vienna lager than a traditional German pils - but whatever it's called, it's tasty and we like it. Presenting a rich copper color capped by plenty of near-white foam that holds together well as it lowly drops, Penn Pilsner looks good in the glass. Aromas of lightly toasted bread crust, caramel, and maybe some honey are apparent, punctuated by a hay-like, grassy...
- Style: American IPA
- ABV: 6.9%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 78
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Summit, Cascade
- Malts: Pale, Crystal, Caramalt, Whole Wheat, Munich Light
- Country: United States
Pouring an attractive medium amber-copper color, this IPA sends up quite the aroma as it tumbles into the glass. It's not shy in the hops department as it presents a big, resinous, fruity, floral, and citric character. Unsurprisingly, the hops come through big on the palate too, with a very American-style citric, floral, and piney profile. The caramel malt backbone offers plenty of satisfying presence to support the hop flavors, which, to us...
- Style: Kellerbier
- ABV: 5.2%
- Serving Temperature: 45-50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Mug (traditionally earthen)
- Country: Germany
Zeppelin is modeled after a fairly rare German style of beer known as "kellerbier". Literally meaning "cellar beer", kellerbiers are traditionally matured in casks for several weeks and served unfiltered. They also feature a very low level of carbonation due to the tradition of the bungs in the casks being left loose, allowing the carbonation to escape as the beer conditions in underground cellars. Zeppelin pours a hazy, rich amber-brown...
- Style: Old Ale
- ABV: 5.6%
- Serving Temperature: 48-55° F
- Suggested Glassware: Snifter, Pint Glass
- Country: England
Old Peculier is Theakston's most famous beer and has been brewed under this name since the late 19th century. It's crafted in the style of an "old ale", also sometimes known as a "stock ale", which was a beer traditionally matured for an extended period, often developing some oxidized notes and a vinous, mildly acidic edge. These ales were then sometimes blended with fresh ale to add dimension and complexity to the younger brew. Old Peculier...
- Style: Hoppy Bière de Garde
- ABV: 8.0%
- Serving Temperature: 48–56° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Pinot Glass, Chalice
- Country: France
Anosteké (formally, Anosteké Blonde) is the phonetic equivalent of “tot anoste keer,” which from Flemish translates as “see you next time” or “to the next.” After our first few sips, we understood. Beer travelers should note that at least two other beers occasionally appear with the Anosteké name also attached to them: Brune Imperial Smout [sic], a significantly darker take, and Cuvée d’Hiver, an amber beer for Christmas. The Blonde was
- Style: Russian Imperial Stout
- ABV: 10.0%
- Serving Temperature: 52–59° F
- Suggested Glassware: Snifter, Tulip, Burgundy Glass
- Country: United States
It was a little tough to sip this one without an occasional “We believe in nothing, Lebowski!” echoing through our subconscious, conjuring white Russians. We didn’t mind this. Nihilist is an expansive, generous imperial stout that never once had us questioning the underlying core principles of our existence. There’s a rich, mouth-enveloping viscosity here that brings layers of dark chocolate and caramel, invoking Bell’s Expedition Stout...
