- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: Weizen Glass
- Hops: Cascade, Mt. Hood, Tettnanger, Chinook
- Malts: 2 Row Pale, Wheat, Caramel, Carapils, Chocolate, Black

What’s in a name? Dunkel means “dark” and Weizen means “wheat” in German, making this beer, literally, a dark wheat beer. Look for a deep caramel amber color with orange hues capped by a very creamy light tan head that laces masterfully along the glass. Rich caramel and dough-like notes complement aromas of clove and banana and a hint of bubble gum. As expected for the style, there are some bread-like notes and these work very nicely against...
- Style: Eisbock
- ABV: 9.2%
- Serving Temperature: 52-60°F
- Suggested Glassware: Snifter
- Country: Germany
Kulmbacher Eisbock is brewed with five different malt varieties, lending tremendous complexity. On the nose, look for sweet aromas of caramel malt, figs, fresh biscuits, rum, and a touch of apricot. There’s also a creamy note of oak with an underlying note of vanilla. On the palate, expect a full body with some mildly roasty notes, along with touches of raisins, maple syrup, and cookie dough. Notes of chocolate, plum, and caramel flow through the background...
- Style: Witbier
- ABV: 4.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 10
- Serving Temperature: 42-47º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass, Pilsner Glass
- Hops: Cluster
- Malts: Wheat, 2 Row Pale, Oats
- Country: United States
Grey Lady is Cisco's take on the Belgian witbier (white beer) style, so as we expect it pours a moderately hazy, light straw color capped by a bright white head. Brewed typically with citrus peel and spices, especially coriander, along with highly-expressive Belgian yeast, witbiers can be quite complex in both aroma and flavor, and this one is no exception. In the highly fragrant aroma, expect bright and bold notes of orange and coriander to create a lovely citric...
- Style: India Pale Ale
- ABV: 6.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 66
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Chinook, Cascade, Summit, Centennial
- Malts: 2 Row Pale, Rye, Caramel, Munich
- Country: United States
Pouring a fairly deep reddish amber, Indie Pale Ale gives the impression that it's not going to be your typical IPA which offers just enough pale and light caramel malt to provide a canvas to the big hop blast. No sir, the malt profile here plays almost as big a role in the flavor department as the hops - which are quite expressive, so that's saying something. On the nose, there are big classic Summit and Centennial hop notes of tangerine, grapefruit, and orange...
- Style: Saison
- ABV: 8.0%
- Serving Temperature: 50–57° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Goblet, Burgundy Glass
- Country: Belgium
The early pours of this are brilliantly clear, bright golden brown, and topped by an off-white foam that seems inclined to fill up one’s glass. The head lingers, built out of resilient bubbles of miniscule dimensions, the beer’s lacing holding tight to the sides of the glass. The aroma’s a good sign that this is heading for territory quite distinct and clear, heading away from that more-familiar peppery and fruity Dupont yeast profile and instead opting for something...
- Style: Vienna Lager
- ABV: 5.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 23
- Serving Temperature: 42-47º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass, Flute
- Hops: Cascade, Mt. Hood
- Malts: 2 Row Pale, Caramel, Munich, Caravienne
- Country: United States
This Vienna lager does indeed pour a clear, medium amber color. We found the aroma to be very well balanced with bready malts accompanied by a lightly spicy hop aroma. Notes of caramel and a hint of toffee come through as well. We found the flavors a bit more forceful than the aroma with a complex and sweet maltiness, notes of caramel, mild toastiness, and some apple-like notes increasing with warmth. The American hops come through with a...
- Style: German Pilsner
- ABV: 5.0%
- Serving Temperature: 40-47° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pilsener Glass, Flute, or Stein
- Country: Germany
Look for Kulmbacher’s well-crafted pils to pour an attractive golden color capped by a sizable bright white head. The characteristic crackery pilsner malt aromas are overlaid with floral and spicy noble hop notes. On the palate, we found it everything a good German pils should be: impressively refreshing and drinkable, with a crisp, dry finish and a touch of spicy and faintly citric hop bitterness hanging on to the palate. An extremely food-friendly brew, pair...
- Style: Belgian-Style Golden Ale with Spices
- ABV: 10.5%
- Serving Temperature: 50–57° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Goblet
- Country: United States
We’re really fond of beers that are built like this. It feels like it was built on the foundation of a tripel, leading with that same pepper and bitterness, but it’s as if the typical malt core of the style had been built out. There’s so much more here than just Pilsner malt: there are honeyed notes, a rich herbal quality, some bright tangerine-like elements (presumably from the orange peel), firm coriander, and far more caramelized sugar than tripels are accustomed to...
