Unmatched Variety by style, brewery & country
Choose from Five different Beer Clubs offering unmatched variety by brewery,
country of origin, and beer style to suit your specific tastes.
- Style: Porter
- ABV: 6.6%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 30
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Magnum, Cascade
- Malts: American 2-Row Pale, Special B, C-120, Chocolate, Carastan, Carafa II
- Country: United States
This hearty, mahogany-colored GABF Gold medal winner is brewed to evoke the dark, full-bodied ales that were a favorite of dockworkers and warehousemen (porters) in 19th century London—though we suspect this version's got a slightly more aggressive character with a bit more of a hop profile. Expect a dark brown brew with nearly purple highlights in light, capped with a dark tan head. On the nose, look for whiffs of star anise, black licorice...
- Style: American Pale Ale
- ABV: 5.9%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 26.6
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Cascade
- Malts: 2-Row Pale, Caramel 80L, White Wheat, Extra Special
- Country: United States
This American-style pale ale is a looker, pouring an attractive amber color with some light haze and lots of fluffy foam. We got lots of spicy, herbal-grassy hop notes in the aroma on this one—a couple of us even felt a touch of mint come through—bolstered by a bit of a floral note. On the palate, there's a very nice, smooth, caramel malt core that has a bit of breadiness to it and delivers some mild sweetness to support the hops which come...
- Style: Brown Ale
- ABV: 6.7%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 18
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Galena, Cascade, Willamette
- Malts: North American 2-Row, Munich 10L, C-120, Chocolate
- Country: United States
This GABF Silver medal winning brew goes way back, being first brewed at the Northampton Brewery in 1988. Considered by many to be a definitive example of an American-style brown ale, Old Brown Dog delivers, unsurprisingly, a rich brown color boasting crystal clarity, and lots of foam from an aggressive pour. Look for aroma notes of rich caramel, toasted bread crust, and hints of chocolate accompanied by a certain nutty character.
- Style: Blonde Ale
- ABV: 4.2%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 14.2
- Serving Temperature: 40-45º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Flute
- Hops: Perle, Centennial
- Malts: 2-Row Pale, White Wheat, Carapils
- Country: United States
Bent River’s easy-drinking Mississippi Blonde offers up a lightly hazy golden color, topped with a head of pure white foam. Soft pale malt aromas come forth, bolstered by a touch of wheat and a citric hop note with a little earthiness. We found the flavor followed the aroma pretty closely, with the pale malts offering a bit of sweetness with a crackery wheat note, all balanced nicely by a light dose of citric Centennial hops and robust...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: English Dark Ale
- ABV: 5.2%
- Serving Temperature: 48-53° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Country: England
A 2006 World Beer Championships Gold Medal winner and rated Exceptional (91 points) by the Beverage Tasting Institute, Hobgoblin pours a dark amber/ light brown color with an attractive head that leaves good lace. On the nose, rich aromas of caramel, toffee, and maple syrup come forth, along with a bit of true-to-style butterscotch, dark fruits, and a touch of nuttiness and chocolate. There’s also a certain woodiness, as if the beer had been...
- Style: Strong Pale Lager
- ABV: 6.4%
- Serving Temperature: 45-50°F
- Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass, Flute, or Stange
- Country: Spain
The first thing that catches one’s eye with this beer is the unusual embossed bottle devoid of a typical artistic label, which is an homage to the original beer bottles Alhambra sold starting back in 1925. Weighing in at 6.4% ABV, this European-style strong lager presents quite nicely in the glass, with a golden hue adorned by a very sizeable head of persistent foam that laces the glass well. Quite aromatic on the nose, Reserva 1925 offers...
- Style: Miabock
- ABV: 6.8%
- Serving Temperature: 39-46° F
- Suggested Glassware: Dimpled Mug or Pilsner Glass
- Country: Canada
The LTM Maibock pours quite pale with just a bit of healthy haze to it. We suggest pouring this somewhat gently, as the white foam kicks up easily and lasts for a long time. Overall this is right where we’re like to see a maibock: properly pale, just clear enough without appearing significantly filtered, and with a firm, bone-white head with no interest in going anywhere.
- Style: Belgian-style Strong Pale Ale
- ABV: 10%
- Serving Temperature: 48–57° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Chalice, or Bordeaux Glass
- Country: United States
This was generous on numerous fronts: a bready, effervescent, crackling profile that stayed true to the pure drinkability of the original. A citrusy, lime-like, funky Brett character that will only make this more lean, and tart, and dry as things progress. And, at its center, malty richness that evolves as this warms in one’s glass: caramelized sugar and bananas, honey and dried fruit, toffee and toast. Just so many great aspects to this beer...
