- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: German Pilsner
- ABV: 4.6%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 28
- Serving Temperature: 40-45º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass
- Hops: Saaz
- Malts: Pilsner, Dextrin
- Country: United States
This German-style pilsner presents a pale straw color topped with a voluminous head of white foam - a tall pilsner glass is definitely the right call here to provide room for that foam and to allow a pleasant view of all the tiny bubbles wandering up to the surface. The 100% Saaz hop contribution delivers classic noble hop aromas with floral overtones, light earth and hay, and a touch of spice, all atop a lightly bready malt character...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: American IPA
- ABV: 7.1%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 70
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: IPA Glass, Pint Glass
- Hops: Apollo, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus
- Malts: 2-Row, Carared, Dextrin
- Country: United States
This IPA pours a bright golden hue with a robust cap of persistent off-white foam that laces our glasses well. In the aroma, look for citrus to dominate with notes of grapefruit rind and light orange and lemon overtones. Some pleasant floral character comes through, as well, offering hints of jasmine and citrus blossoms, backed up by some herbal spice. The zesty citrus character comes forth on the palate right away, along with some resinous...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: Hefeweizen
- ABV: 6.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 15
- Serving Temperature: 40-45º F
- Suggested Glassware: Weizen Glass
- Hops: Sterling
- Malts: Pale Wheat, Pilsner
- Country: United States
This hefeweizen presents a lightly hazy, bright straw color topped with a cap of vibrant white foam. Hefeweizens are yeast-driven beers, with the top-fermenting Bavarian yeast strains generating a wide array of aromas, with banana, clove, and bubblegum typically being the most prominent. Unshadowed is no exception as it provides those notes in abundance, augmented by some herbal spice and delicate lemony citrus...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: German Pilsner
- ABV: 4.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 28
- Serving Temperature: 40-45º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass
- Hops: Sterling

This is the first in a series of Fvck Covid beers Ale Asylum is brewing, and it's certainly a sentiment we all relate to, but especially those in the hard hit hospitality industry. The brewery is donating 100% of profits to UW Health's Covid-19 Response Fund and Kessenich's S.O.S. Fund which helps furloughed Madison restaurant workers. Cheers to that. This pilsner pours a pale straw hue capped by a head of bright white foam...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: Session IPA
- ABV: 6.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 45
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: IPA Glass, Pint Glass
- Hops: Apollo, Simcoe, Amarillo, Calypso
- Malts: 2-Row, Dextrin, Wheat, Oats
- Country: United States
Calypso is a new release from Brothers, having been introduced around the beginning of 2020. Presenting a bright, lightly coppery, golden color with a cap of off-white foam, this IPA offers a beguiling aroma. Look for prominent, luscious, juicy fruit impressions with soft citruses including orange, tangerine, and lime, with tropical fruits, pear, and a touch of stone fruit. We picked up supple floral notes and undertones of herbal pine...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: American IPA
- ABV: 7.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 54
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: IPA Glass, Tulip
- Hops: Citra, Cascade
- Malts: Pale, Dextrin, Crystal, Dark Crystal
- Country: United States
Pouring a hazy, deep amber color with a fluffy head of persistent foam which laces nicely, Velveteen Habit looks pretty inviting as we raise it up for a sniff. Rated Wisconsin's Best IPA by Milwaukee Magazine in a blind tasting in 2015, this IPA offers up strong citrus notes of grapefruit, lime, and orange, with hints of tropical fruit, peach-like stone fruit, and strong secondary floral hop notes. There's an easily noticeable undercurrent...
- Bottle Size: 330-ml
- Style: Tripel
- ABV: 8.5%
- Serving Temperature: 46-53° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Snifter
- Country: Italy
Brewed with the abbey's signature eucalyptus, this tripel pours a bright, hazy, copper amber color, with a rocky head of khaki foam that persists well before dropping to a lasting collar. Tripels, like Belgian ales in general, are known for their very yeast-driven character, and we get that here in spades. Look for distinct herbal, spicy, and earthy notes of clove, pepper, and mild eucalyptus, joined by fruity impressions of stone fruits, apple, and...
- Bottle Size: 330-ml
- Style: German Pilsner
- ABV: 4.8%
- Serving Temperature: 40-45° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass
- Country: Germany
Pouring a bright, crystal clear golden color and capped by a pillowy head of white foam, this pils, known by locals simply as "Flens", certainly looks the part as the bubbles rise up our tall pilsner glasses which end up covered in lace as we drink them down. On the nose, look for an undercurrent of cracker and light bread notes overlaid by that classically European noble hop character we love in this type of authentic German brew...
- Bottle Size: 750-ml
- Style: Wild Rye Tripel Ale aged in fresh California Chardonnay barrels
- ABV: 9.8%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 35
- Serving Temperature: 42–49° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Chalice, or Chardonnay Glass
- Hops: Perle, Strisselspalt, Vanguard
- Malts: pilsner malt, wheat malt, rye malt, oat malt, Vienna malt, crystal rye, roasted wheat
- Country: United States
One of our two featured beers this month is a Rare Beer Club exclusive from our friends at Jolly Pumpkin: the delicious El Pastor. This release will be available exclusively through the club and the brewery’s tasting room. This brew is a wild rye tripel ale brewed and barrel-aged in fresh California Chardonnay oak barrels, for a period of 17 months. Perle, Strisselspalt, and Vanguard hops contribute to a healthy 35 IBUs of bitterness. And the ABV reaches almost 10%, incorporating pilsner malt, wheat malt, rye malt, oat malt, Vienna malt, crystal rye, and roasted wheat.
- Bottle Size: 750-ml
- Style: Solera-process Saison aged in American oak foeders
- ABV: 7.0%
- Serving Temperature: 42–49° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Goblet, or Pinot Glass
- Country: United States
The nicely detailed Solera Saison from Westbound & Down uses the Solera-style aging process to create a blend of barrel-aged saisons of various ages, with each bottling of Solera Saison being similar, but also a touch different, to the one preceding it. 100% of this saison is aged inside of American oak foeders, and Solera Saison gets fermented with 5 strains of Brettanomyces, 3 saison strains, and 3 strains of Lactobacillus. The Solera-style blending and complex fermentations provide for one of the most satisfying foeder-aged saisons we’ve found in quite some time.
We’re so proud of our featured beers, that we list them going all the way back to 1995
No other Beer Club can claim the same. Check out what we’ve been up for the last 20+ years. We know you’ll be impressed enough to see what’s coming next month.
