Peanut butter porters and stouts have begun to carve out a bit of a niche in the craft beer world, and Wild Ride threw their hat into the ring with this 2019 Best of Craft Beer Awards gold medal winner, which presents a very deep, dark brown with golden edges and a cap of medium brown foam. On the nose, there's a bold peanut expression which budges up against moderate roasty elements including semi-sweet and milk chocolate, light coffee...

- Hops: Citra, Mosaic
- Malts: 2-Row Pale, Vienna, C-60

Pouring a bright, clear copper color with plenty of off-white foam, Pennyrile Pale Ale looks great in the glass as its inviting aroma wafts outward. It's quite fruity, with luscious hoppy notes evoking tropical fruits like mango and guava, along with touches of citrus, light pine, and floral overtones. On the palate, this brew is deliciously juicy as those hops take center stage. Look for the malts to add a nice dash of underlying caramel and...

Hidden Trail represents a bit of a cross between an American Pale Ale and a New England-style IPA, offering plenty of haze amidst its golden hue as it sits in one's glass under a nice crop of rocky foam. In the aroma, Mosaic and El Dorado hops combine for a hugely fruity impression boasting notes of stone fruits, pear, hints of berry, and tropical fruits reminiscent of mango and pineapple. That fruity hop theme carries over on the palate with...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz

- ABV: 7.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 80
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F

- Country: United States
Pouring a golden-amber topped by a plentiful head of persistent foam, West Sixth's IPA offers up bold aromas of orange and tangerine citrus along with floral tones, touches of stone fruit, grassy spice, and some pine-like herbal hints. On the palate, look for the malt backbone to show very nicely, with prominent caramel and toasty bread impressions, and thankfully it's plenty sturdy too, providing the necessary heft to hold up 80 big IBUs of...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: American IPA (New England-style)
- ABV: 6.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 50
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F

Wild Ride's Hippy Haze presents a well-hazed golden orange color with a cap of persistent foam that laces as it drops. On the nose, this hazy IPA offers up quite the fruity impression; look for big tropical, citric and floral notes. We picked up prominent pineapple, touches of grapefruit, hints of pine, and herbal spice. We're off to a good start, and thankfully the story continues much the same way on the palate. The flavor offers huge...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: American IPA
- ABV: 7.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 75
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: IPA Glass, Pint Glass, Mug
- Hops: Eureka, Comet, Idaho 7
- Malts: 2-Row Pale, Vienna, C-60
- Country: United States
This is the first beer of West Sixth's rotator IPA series, and it's certainly a great start. Presenting a golden copper hue under a generous cap of sticky foam, Hop Static bursts with luscious notes of tropical fruit, stone fruit, and light citrus, joined with resinous pine and herbal character. That resinous herbal quality comes forth quite prominently on the palate, too, as it augments a firm 75 IBUs of hop bitterness for a drying character...
- Bottle Size: 330-ml
- Style: Belgian Blonde Ale
- ABV: 6.9%
- Serving Temperature: 45-50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Goblet or Tulip
- Country: Belgium
This brew gets its name from the “stroppendragers,” or noose-wearers, of Ghent in 1540. Having refused to pay a war tax to Charles V, the most prominent rebels were paraded through the streets with nooses around their necks as a threat from the emperor, and the term stroppendrager has been associated with the people of Ghent ever since. Pouring a bright golden color with a plentiful head of just-off-white foam, Gentse Strop offers up a nicely...
- Bottle Size: 330-ml
- Style: Belgian Tripel
- ABV: 8.5%
- Serving Temperature: 45-50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip or Snifter
- Country: Belgium
This abbey-style tripel presents a bright, lightly hazy, amber-golden color, topped with a robust crop of foam. On the nose, look for a base of sweetish, honey-like malts overlaid with stone fruits, mild earthy hops, and some soft, yeast-driven herbal phenolic notes. On the palate, the malts deliver a big, round, and honeyed character shot through with prominent fruity esters conjuring peach, nectarine, and apricot, plus some light citric...
- Bottle Size: 750-ml
- Style: Solera-blended, English-style Old Ale aged in Bourbon Barrels
- ABV: 16.1%
- Serving Temperature: 55–62° F
- Suggested Glassware: Snifter, Tulip, or Pinot Glass
- Country: United States
While Saule has already seen plenty of aging time, we expect this Solera blend to continue to age gracefully for quite some time. We tend to think of this as a nightcap beer, to possibly be paired with a creamy, Cameroon-wrapper cigar if you’re into that sort of thing. We’d look to a peppery steak dish to match the beers’s heft, or smooth vanilla desserts for a counterpoint.
- Bottle Size: 750-ml
- Style: 83% Sour Ale aged in Oak Barrels + 17% Ale aged in Bourbon Barrels w/ Ginger & Coconut
- ABV: 7.8%
- Serving Temperature: 42–49° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Chalice, or Pinot Glass
- Country: United States
Mélange No. 9 will continue to age smoothly in the bottle, but it’s very much ready to drink now. That ginger and tartness emphasis is particularly interesting for pairing options. We’d look to fattier meats for this: duck with ginger-plum sauce, or Japanese-style ginger pork.
