This bock from TXL is one of the original beers that launched the brewery back in 2017. It presents quite a rich mahogany brown hue with some orange and red flashes, topped with a head of light beige foam. On the nose, this is a very expressive brew, offering up notes of cocoa powder and rich caramel, with secondary hints of toasted bread along with herbal, lightly minty, hay-like, and mildly spicy hop overtones. On the palate, this is a very...

This pale lager from Diamond Bear is named in honor of a bear featured in a prominent mural on one of the brewery’s exterior walls by artist Nancy Griffey Jordan (who’s produced art for several of the brewery’s cans). The beer presents a bright, pale, golden hue with just a hint of haze, capped by an effervescent crop of white foam. On the nose, we picked up inviting notes of pear and apple skins along with a crackery, lightly bready...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz

- Serving Temperature: 50-55º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass, Tulip
- Hops: Chinook, Fuggle
- Malts: Maris Otter, C60, Biscuit, Chocolate, Pale Chocolate
- Country: United States
This porter presents a deep ruddy brown color in the glass, topped by a sizeable head of medium brown foam. Look for a rich and inviting character on the nose, with that engaging interplay between roasty malts and brighter hops that we love in a good porter. We picked up deep-down notes of chocolate, scorched caramel, and well-toasted bread crust, shot through with hints of red fruit esters and overlaid by a patina of herbal, woody, and mildly...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: English-style Pale Ale
- ABV: 6.1%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 33
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass or Mug
- Hops: Hallertau, Fuggle, Cascade
- Malts: 2-Row Brewers, Caramel 40
- Country: United States
Diamond Bear’s Pale Ale was the first beer released by the brewery in 2000, and it’s been a mainstay ever since. Now branded as Victory Pale Ale, this GABF gold medal winner presents a somewhat hazy deep amber color (English-style pale ales tend to have more color than their American-style counterparts) topped by a robust head of beige foam. On the nose, look for a nice balance between inviting caramelized undertones and bright overlaying...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: American IPA
- ABV: 6.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 40
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: IPA Glass, Pint Glass
- Hops: El Dorado, Cascade
- Malts: 2-Row, Golden Naked Oats, Flaked Oats, Munich
- Country: United States
This IPA pours a bright, clear golden color with plenty of off-white foam that laces the glass nicely as it subsides. In the aroma, look for super inviting fruity notes to jump out right away, showcasing fragrant tropical character evoking pineapple and mango, joined by prominent stone fruits, touches of melon, some candied citrus tending towards orange and lemon, and even some berry-like hints, all overlaid by a soft floral quality. This...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: Cold IPA
- ABV: 7.0%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 70
- Serving Temperature: 42-47º F
- Suggested Glassware: IPA Glass, Tulip
- Hops: Centennial, Citra, Mandarina, Mosaic
- Malts: Pilsner, Flaked Corn, Acidulated
- Country: United States
This IPA from TXL is brewed in the relatively new “Cold IPA” substyle, which is essentially like an uber-West-Coast-style IPA. The brewers use some corn, or sometimes rice, to give the beer its needed heft while reducing caramelized flavors. Additionally, the beer is fermented colder than is typical of ales, often with lager yeast, or a blend of lager and ale yeast, with the end result being a full-throttle IPA, usually with a decent ABV...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: American IPA
- ABV: 6.2%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 57
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: IPA Glass, Pint Glass
- Hops: Centennial, Cascade
- Malts: 2-Row Brewers, Carapils
- Country: United States
Presenting a medium amber hue in our glass and capped by a fluffy light beige head, this IPA offers up a good look as it delivers plenty of olfactory interest. Look for a luscious aroma with plenty of caramel malt merging with the hops to deliver notes of candied citrus, apricot preserves, citrus blossoms, earth, and a wisp of pine. The flavor largely follows suit, with the malty core offering a robust and flavorful caramelized structure as...
- Bottle Size: 440-ml
- Style: English Pale Ale
- ABV: 5.0%
- Serving Temperature: 45-50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass, Wide Flute
- Country: England
This iconic British ale is quite stunning in the glass, especially as this version is nitrogenated, presenting a rich reddish-amber hue capped with a dense, mousse-like off-white head which coats the glass with lace as you drink. On the nose, look for light notes of caramel and toffee along with a definite fruity overtone, likely both from esters produced during fermentation as well as Morland’s choice of hops, purported to be a blend of...
- Bottle Size: 330-ml
- Style: Czech Pilsner
- ABV: 4.4%
- Serving Temperature: 40-45° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass
- Country: Czech Republic
Despite being a technologically advanced, modern facility, the brewery uses traditional lager brewing techniques to make their flagship beers, including open fermentation vats, cool conditioning in their lagering cellars and, of course, 100% barley malt. The result is a very successful Czech pilsner. Rebel is a looker in the glass, offering a clear golden color topped with a robust and long-lasting head of fine white foam. On the nose, expect...
- Bottle Size: 750-ml
- Style: Belgian Tripel Ale
- ABV: 7.5%
- Serving Temperature: 48–52° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Goblet, or Chalice
- Country: Belgium
With all due respect to the “Best before date” on the bottle, Corsendonk Agnus can be confidently aged 5-8 years in a dark place without high temperature fluctuations. Of course, you can enjoy it now with grilled fish or poultry, or try it with Belgian moules et frites as recent traditions would suggest.
- Bottle Size: 750-ml
- Style: Sour Blonde Ale with Lemon & Rosemary
- ABV: 6.2%
- Serving Temperature: 48–55° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Flute, or Chardonnay Glass
- Country: United States
Drink the Hi-Wire Sour Blonde with Lemon & Rosemary now, or it can be aged up to a year for the freshest lemon and rosemary aromas and flavors. Beyond a year, we expect the impact of those special additions to start fading. For food pairings, we recommend playing off the beer’s natural acidity and the lemon and rosemary character. Roasted chicken with rosemary lemon butter, or a simple lemon parsley couscous both sound perfect to us.
