Free Flow presents a hazy orange-gold hue in the glass, capped by a large head of foam that drops to a persistent collar while lacing the glass nicely. Look for an engaging multifaceted hop aroma full of juicy citrus and tropical notes, with secondary melon and stone fruits, all bolstered by a soft floral quality and a wisp of mint. It’s deliciously juicy on the palate too, with those hops taking center stage with plenty of fruity tones along...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: American Amber Ale
- ABV: 5.5%
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass, Mug
- Hops: Nugget, Fuggle
- Malts: North American Pale, Caramel Malts
- Country: United States
Given Duck-Rabbit’s specialty, it’s not surprising that this medium amber-brown brew is on the darker end of the spectrum for an amber ale. On the nose, expect very prominent and very toasty bready notes with a touch of brown sugar. Look also for notes of fresh grist (brew-speak for grains) and a slight Belgian-candy like sweetness. The hops are subdued, letting you know this is definitely going to be a malt-forward version of the style. This...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: Hazy Session IPA
- ABV: 5.5%
- Int’l Bittering Units (IBUs): 45
- Serving Temperature: 45-50º F
- Suggested Glassware: IPA Glass, Pint Glass
- Hops: Millennium, Cascade, Citra, Ekuanot
- Malts: Pale, Wheat, Carapils
- Country: United States
Pouring a hazy golden straw color topped with a big head of fluffy foam, Daily Dose looks great as it rests in the glass. Prominent tropical fruit notes jump out right away in the aroma, backed up by resinous citrus rind, floral tones, and a spicy flourish. Daily Dose is brewed to be an easy-drinking, any-time-of-day sort of IPA, and the beer’s silky smoothness on the palate contributes to this mission greatly, along with the low...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: Porter
- ABV: 5.7%
- Serving Temperature: 45-52º F
- Suggested Glassware: Pint Glass, Mug
- Hops: CTZ
- Malts: Pale ale, chocolate, unmalted oats
- Country: United States
Porters can range in color from medium brown to nearly black, and this one is an example of the latter—it’s darker than many stouts out there! This porter has a complex nose with notes of dark chocolate, roasty sweetness, chicory and a woody, fresh-cut pine note. We really enjoyed the rich, creamy mouthfeel, thanks in part to the use of oats. This beer has body, and we’re big fans; honestly, many porters these days are a bit thin for our...
- Bottle Size: 12-oz
- Style: American Black Ale
- ABV: 7.3%
- Serving Temperature: 48-55º F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Snifter
- Hops: Motueka, Chinook
- Malts: Several roasted malts
- Country: United States
Black IPA, India Black Ale, Cascadian Dark Ale, American Black Ale – this is a style that goes by many names (Duck-Rabbit is going with American Black Ale, which we also prefer). Hoppy Bunny presents a very dark, opaque, brown-black hue topped by a head of medium-brown foam. In the aroma, we certainly get that interplay between dark malts and brighter hop notes that sets this style apart. The malts come through with a lot less of an acrid...
- Bottle Size: 330-ml
- Style: Dunkel Lager
- ABV: 4.7%
- Serving Temperature: 45-52° F
- Suggested Glassware: Mug, Stein
- Hops: Perle
- Country: Germany
Weltenburger’s Barock Dunkel (which translates as “baroque dark”) is truly a benchmark for the style and it has the hardware to back it up including World Beer Cup gold medals in 2004, 2008, and 2012. In our glass, it presents a clear, medium bronze-brown hue topped by a prominent head of tan foam that retains well before dropping to a lasting collar. As we expect for a Bavarian dunkel, the aroma tilts decidedly towards the malty side, with...
- Bottle Size: 330-ml
- Style: Helles Lager
- ABV: 4.9%
- Serving Temperature: 45-50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Pilsner Glass, Stange, Pint Glass, Mug
- Hops: Herkules, Perle, Tradition
- Country: Germany
Weltenberger’s Hell (which means “bright”) presents a crystal clear light golden hue topped by a head of bright white foam. On the nose, look for underlying lightly bready and biscuity pale malt notes overlaid by some earthy, grassy, and spicy-herbal hop tones with just a dash of fruitiness. This quintessential helles lager delivers a super round and smooth feel on the palate, offering a delicious core maltiness with plenty of bready pale...
- Bottle Size: 750-ml
- Style: Oak-aged Blended Sour w/ Rose Hips and Rose Petals
- ABV: 6.8%
- Serving Temperature: 45–50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Chalice, Goblet, or Teku Glass
- Country: United States
Amalgamation Station is a proprietary Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales blend exclusively formulated for the Rare Beer Club. Amalgamation Station will only be available through the Rare Beer Club and Jolly Pumpkin tasting rooms in very limited quantities...
- Bottle Size: 750-ml
- Style: Blonde Biere de Garde
- ABV: 7%
- Serving Temperature: 45–50° F
- Suggested Glassware: Tulip, Teku, or Chardonnay Glass
- Country: France
Brasserie Au Baron Cuvee des Jonquilles represents a relatively rare “blonde” variant of the style—we’re accustomed to our Biere de Gardes favoring amber coloration, so we were pleased when we came across this unusual version, as blonde BdG’s are pretty tough to come by. Use caution when popping the cork—we’ve got a live one here! Make sure the beer has had time to settle in the fridge for at least a day or two after shipping. Even after...
